My One Constant

I have always been an active gal who eats healthy food. Moving my body and eating broccoli is something I find easy to do as it’s always been a way of life.

However…

In January 2018 I made the decision to prioritise me. I had lost myself, I was doing exercise that didn’t quite give what I wanted even though I enjoyed it, I was eating healthy food but too much of it, and my mind was all over the place.

Over three years, I got married, pregnant, grieved the loss of my grandma and dad, separated from my husband and got a divorce, all whilst learning to be a mum for the first time.

So many ups and downs, which caused my brain to fry. I was not listening to my body, my mind or my heart. I was nourishing my daughter with breastfeeding, love and comfort, but not giving myself enough love. I was settling in a relationship, exercise and way of eating that didn’t serve me. I was running a business that didn’t align with my heart.

Throughout all these moments, the one constant has been eating healthy food and moving my body.

It is my natural habit. It is something that has been a part of my life since the day I can remember. Eating wholesome food and enjoying moving my body is just a way of life.

When I become a personal trainer I lost touch with my natural habit of just eating and moving. I started structuring food by counting macros and following set plans with weight lifting. I did strength programmes, CrossFit, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. Everything was focused on numbers, progress, sets, reps and a plan. This was a huge learning curve and I am so grateful for these experiences as they have helped me to understand food and nutrition, and how the body works with strength training, building muscle, losing body fat and getting results.

But, they ultimately lead me to become detached from my body. Simply eating mindfully and moving my body in whatever way my heart desires.

This last year has been dedicated to doing just that. Finding my way back to eating intuitively and doing exercise that fully aligns with my whole being.

What I do know is I love being active, in any shape or form. I love to dance, swim, cycle, run, lift, climb, jump, move. I love to eat veggies, fruit, sweet potato, peanut butter, rice, burgers, chips, ice cream, pizza, hummus and olives.

I love having the freedom and flexibility of doing all of those things above whilst giving me the life (aka the body aka the results) I want that make me feel any BEST self.

Following a plan helps a tonne. It helps with focus, consistency, commitment and ultimately results. This year I have been committed to following a plan with nutrition to help heal my relationship with food which has been a huge game changer. Following a plan with exercise massively helps me have routine and feel good every day, every week.

Being healthy and showing up daily isn’t always easy, especially when you’re a busy mum. Why do it alone? Support and accountability are huge for me, and time and time again it proves that when I have this it works.

As a personal trainer and health & wellness coach, it is my mission to help women live their best life in all areas – physically, mentally and emotionally, with food, exercise, mindset, business and body confidence.

Recently I added to my business being a health & wellness coach by offering online fitness programme which you can do at the comfort of your own home. I have started the programmes myself and I feel absolutely incredible! I have energy, focus and helps me to feel good whilst running business from home and being mum.

You don’t need equipment to do these workouts. You don’t need a 6 pack to do the routine. You just need to have a desire to be healthy.

If you are interested in learning more about the fitness and nutrition programmes and want to join me, I would love to chat with you to share what I do to see if it’s the right fit for you.
